Small-town newspapers often report on incidents that would not be mentioned in the news in a large town. Such was the case this past week when our local law enforcement officials were busy stopping drivers who turned out not to have driver’s licenses. Here are two stories:
“A man stopped for driving 80 in a 55 mph zone told police he didn’t have a license. He said he had been driving because his girlfriend had been drinking.”
“A man who was stopped by the police for a license check told the officer he didn’t have a driver’s license. He also said he didn’t need one because he knew how to drive.”
Needless to say, both drivers were arrested and taken to jail.
