Hummingbird, don’t fly away, fly away

Now that October has arrived, the hummingbirds are fewer in number.  Only one or two seem to still remain, and it won’t be long before they, too, have flown away. I have found it very difficult to photograph hummingbirds, although I was successful once or twice this summer and have posted those photos here:

This photo, taken earlier this week, may be the last one until the hummingbirds return next spring.

Last hummingbird of the seasonFor some amazingly beautiful images of hummingbirds, take a moment to watch this video, featuring the song “Hummingbird” by Seals and Crofts.

“Hummingbird don’t fly away, fly away. Hummingbird don’t fly away, fly away.
In you I’ve found a fragrance. I’ll love you ’til I die.
I just love you, love you, love you. I don’t even know the reason why.
Hummingbird don’t fly away, fly away. Hummingbird don’t fly away, fly away.
The sweetness of your nectar has drawn me like a fly.
I just love you, love you, love you. I don’t even know the reason why. Now,
Hummingbird don’t fly away, fly away. Hummingbird don’t fly away, fly away.”
