Yonah Mountain in the Golden Hour

From the front porch, we have a seasonal view of Yonah Mountain.  For the 18 years we have lived here we have looked out to see the mountain only in winter, but never have I seen it as it was at day’s end a couple of weeks ago, bathed in golden sunlight that intensified before fading away to the dusk of evening.

Yonah Mountain #2Mount Yonah is a granite monolith, with an elevation of 3,166 feet (a mere hill by some standards).  It is located in the Chattahoochee National Forest between the towns of Cleveland and Helen in North Georgia.
