Mountain laurel

Mountain laurel is a evergreen shrub that is planted as an ornamental but also grows wild here in North Georgia.  A member of the blueberry family (who knew?), it is poisonous to horses, goats, cattle, deer and humans.  Mountain laurel is another one of those flowering plants that brings back happy childhood memories of time spent meandering in the woods.
