A couple of days ago Silver Threading posted some lovely photos of the deep pink crape myrtle blooming in her corner of Northwest Florida.  I commented on the beautiful color of the blooms, stating that ours here in North Georgia are also blooming but are a paler pink color.  She has prevailed on me to post photos, so here they are…

We have two crape myrtles in our front yard, both of which were here when we bought our house almost 20 years ago.  Unlike many crape myrtles which are the size of shrubs or small trees, ours are very large, tall trees.  I’ve never seen any others like them anywhere.
